Our respiratory therapists are trained in specialty areas such as pulmonary function, including body plethesmography and pediatrics. This therapy department provides all routine respiratory care treatments, such as administering aerosol medications and croup tent therapy, pulse oximetry, incentive spirometry, ultrasonic therapy, bipap, oxygen therapy, ventilator care, and pulmonary rehabilitation. In addition, MSH respiratory therapy department houses a complete arterial blood gas lab with co-oximetry, and each therapist is trained in collection, analysis, and interpretation of arterial blood. The RT department consults with the physicians and nursing staff regarding therapy recommendations for a personal treatment plan.
